Abstract

The article traces the evolution of views on the concept of "human capital" in the world economic science of the mid-twentieth century. Based on the study of the historical prerequisites for the formation of the concept and the analysis of the works of the founders of the theory of human capital, the authors clarified the meaning of the concept of "human capital", and also revealed the essence of the investment approach to the definition of human capital
