Abstract

The paper considers the ecological state of landfills of solid municipal waste in the Brest region, including the morphological composition of buried waste, the quality of groundwater near these objects.

The assessment of the impact of objects on the state of groundwater in 2015-2019 was carried out by comparing the actual concentrations of pollutants in observation and background wells. The data obtained made it possible to assess the dynamics of groundwater pollution near burial sites, the ability to migrate and dilute certain chemical elements.

The issue of improving the structure of landfills in terms of insulating materials that prevent the penetration of filtration waters into groundwater, and the control of incoming waste for disposal is relevant today.
