The article provides an analytical review of the achievements and publications on the development of water treatment devices for non-centralized drinking water supply systems. It contains the results of our own experimental research on the optimization of the technological regime of water purification from nitrates on ion-exchange resins for non-centralized local and individual drinking water supply systems. The study of the most effective anion exchangers was carried out using mathematical planning of experiments, the purpose of which was to study the influence of the main factors of the operation of the ion-exchange column on the efficiency of removing nitrates from groundwater. The obtained particular solutions of the experimental-statistical dependencies in the range of optimal values make it possible to assess the change in the effect of water purification from nitrates according to linear regression equations taking into account the variation in the filtration rate, the ratio of the height of the ion-exchange column and its diameter, and the temperature of the treated water. Technological schemes and devices have been developed for the purification and conditioning of underground waters of non-centralized individual drinking water supply systems using the ion exchange method to remove nitrates.
