An assessment of changes in maximum precipitation intensity in Belarus, including its value over a 20-minute period, was conducted, taking into account the precipitation layer analysis. Research included a quantitative assessment of rainfall runoff characteristics including maximum water discharges during intense rainfall with varying probabilities of exceedance (probability) and their distribution over a given period of maximum rainfall intensity. Proposals were developed for incorporating the obtained data into the calculations and design of storm water drainage systems. These proposals also included proposals for using the obtained data in the SP "Construction Climatology" and for amending SN 4.01.02-2019 "Sewerage. External networks and constructions" An update to the table of estimated rainfall intensity, average annual precipitation totals, and precipitation totals for warm (April-October) and cold (November-March) periods was proposed, taking into account the results of processing the initial meteorological data for the period from 2003 to 2025. Estimated rainfall intensity in Belarus, based on meteorological observations for the period from 2003 to 2024, differs from studies conducted more than 30 years ago. The updated estimated rainfall intensity values are comparable to the results of studies in neighbouring countries. This confirms the accuracy of the calculations and estimates, as well as the need to incorporate their results in regulatory documents.
