The paper presents the results of comparing two traffic control models at intersections. The first model is implemented on the basis of strict regulation. Strict regulation means the constant mode of switching on traffic lights. The second model is based on adaptive algorithms of genetic and bee methods. Both models have an author's software implementation. To compare the efficiency of traffic at the intersection with the use of these models, the following parameters were selected: the maximum queue length, the average queue length, and the average time spent in the queue. A detailed description of the stages of the implementation of the method of searching for optimal solutions is provided. The input data for the software implementation are service requests, which are generated randomly with varying intensity. The application simulatesthe intersection crossing by a vehicle. At the output of the software implementation of the models, we get the phases of the green traffic light signals.
The results of the study are the developed software for adaptive traffic control at the intersection, as well as the data on the basis of which the models were compared.
